IMPERIAL SMITHS AUTOMATIC STAINLESS STEEL 25 JEWEL ENGLISH WRISTWATCH
The famous Smiths Made In England elusive automatic wristwatch with the 25 jewel movement with nickel plated finish movement based on the 19 jewel movement. Designed by Richard Good and Peter Amis in London and built in Cheltenham. Copied directly from the IWC automatic mechanism of the period. Correctly signed on the movement Imperial. This is is a good timekeeper. Recently serviced with a new strap and crystal with any worn parts replaced. Not exactly a mint movement, but with no major wear to the rotor bearings, the pellaton winding system all functioning correctly. The case has usage marks but no dinks, and is the type without the writing on the back. The dial has even toning and luminous type hands and dial markings, I haven't tested this for waterproofing, as the original smiths pattern crown is still fitted as well as the green case gasket. The case diameter is about 34.8mm making it one of Smiths larger diameter watches. The case construction is all stainless steel with a clip on back which is nice and tight. Fitted with a new 18mm strap.
