DELUXE SMITHS SILVER CUSHION CASE 1960 ENGLISH I.C.I WRISTWATCH EXCELLENT CONDITION
Deluxe Smiths silver cushion case 1960 English wristwatch. This superb example of a classic shaped Made in England wristwatch is Dennison cased reference 12100, number 757123 engraved for Imperial Chemical Industries. This style of Smiths were produced from after ww 2 up until about 1971, and possibly later, spanning a period covering the full run of English Smiths production years.
Featuring the original hands in blued steel with luminous infill as well as luminous hour markers, the dial is in stunning two tone finish with vertical and horizontal brushed finish. The case diameter is about 28mm, the solid silver strap bars are fitted with an open ended arc 519 croc grain strap. There s a photographic shadow on the dial which is not present on the watch.
The movement is the full Deluxe grade manual wound gilt finished English lever, upgraded to 16 jewels. Caliber C0471e. Batch 606. Case hallmarked for 1959 K. Case is excellent and a new low dome Sternkreuz crystal fitted as well as a period chromed winding crown. Timekeeping is good, following a service.
There may be a shadow in some of the head on images because the camera is directly overhead, there are no discoloured areas on the dial.
