SMITHS EARLY WATER RESISTING 1952 WRISTWATCH DENNISON AQUATITE CASED 15J

SMITHS EARLY WATER RESISTING 1952 WRISTWATCH DENNISON AQUATITE CASED 15J

Regular price £1,750.00 Sale

Made in England Smiths early water resisting 1952 wristwatch Dennison Aquatite cased 15j, chromed top, whats left of it and a screw in steel back. The top is very worn. I suppose this was a brief branding idea, a variation trying to expand the sales of the roman dials they printed up which were often used by Benson in their version of the Smiths wristwatch. There is an extra gasket around the crystal to warrant the use of the dial.

The movement is in good condition though quite hard to wind, hence the worn crown has been replaced with a military steel one.

Case number 72074

Engraved around the edge in 1952, handy for dating the case number.

Movement number c101624.

Fitted with baskets new strap, spring bars, crystal, crown and mainspring as well as bolt spring and whatever else it needed during servicing.

The strap size is 18mm. The case width is 33.5mm exc. crown diameter 6mm. evenly toned dial. The depth is 11mm.
