GARRARD SMITHS WATCH WITH SMITHS 18 JEWEL HIGHEST GRADE MANUAL MOVEMENT IN THE ORIGINAL TWO BOXES
The highest grade of wristwatch made by Smiths with a manual wound movement, specially refined and with extra jewelling and extra special escapement components. Breguet overcoil hairspring. Solid gold 2 piece case with screw in back. Diameter 33mm. New ZRC 18mm 733 strap. Fully overhauled with 2 years guarantee. Unusually this example is not engraved with a presentation on the back of the case. The watch comes in the Garrard supplied maroon box, and a Garrod shipping box. This example is excellent especially with regards to the condition of the movement, and the timekeeping. Birmingham assay office marks for 1964. ALD Dennison Aquatite solid 9ct gold case reference number 12880, serial number 279707. The movement numbered 54. The watch comes in a British gift box with extras. Some small case marks and dial marks where the feet are, otherwise I would be tempted to call it mint.
In the pictures on a wrist for size comparison with modern watches that you may have this Smiths wristwatch is modelled on a standard european medium sized wrist of 7 1/4 inches, the model is just under 6 ft tall and well built.
