This is one of two similar designs from Smiths with tapered gold plated bracelets where they meet the watch head. although this has some wear, this is a lot less than usual on this design, in which the plating of the upper case and the bracelet are prone to wear, although the plating has indeed all but disappeared from the bracelet itself.
This is a generic item and could possibly be renewed. the watch dates from the late fifties and has an interesting dial design and the gold tone to which the dial has turned matches the rest of the watch nicely. keeps good time. case width about 32.9mm. back is in better condition than the photo shows. just pre shock-proofing era. case back says antimagnetic waterproof. There is a metal ring around the movement which may have been designed as a part anti-magnetic shield as well as the hairspring composition being special.
