Model designation is SW201, The famous Smiths Made In England elusive automatic wristwatch with the 25 jewel movement with nickel plated finish movement based on the 19 jewel movement. Marked with caliber 10144G, and batch 106. Designed by Richard Good and Peter Amis in London and built in Cheltenham. Copied directly from the IWC automatic mechanism of the period. Correctly signed on the movement Imperial. This is a good timekeeper. Recently serviced with a new strap and crystal . The pellaton winding system all functioning correctly. The case has light marks but no dinks, never polished and is the type without the writing on the back.
The case generally shows the facets or polishing angles that were there since new. The dial lacquer has patina as do the hands and hour markers. This is the luminous type hands and dial markings.
I haven't tested this for waterproofing, The case diameter is about 34.5mm making it one of Smiths larger diameter watches. The thickness is 12mm. The case construction is all stainless steel with a clip on back which is nice and tight. Fitted with a new extra long 18mm Buffalo grain mid brown ZRC strap, with the coronet logo which nicely reflects the Smiths one. FIBRES IN THE IMAGES ARE ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE WATCH. The old strap is still present although it needs re-furbishing.
