An excellent example of a Smiths Deluxe model A504, one of the watches that was advertised as having been selected for the expedition up Everest, and seen in many of the adverts from the period, and one of the strongest selling models. case width approx 32mm. This fine example dates form 1959 according to the Edinburgh gold assay marks on the BWC case. As usual with most Smiths cases produced by BWC in this pattern the gold has a lovely pink glow to it here hidden by the discolouration form storage which needs a light polish.
Frosted gilt English c series movement, with Deluxe escapement. Number on the movement c 434249, on the case 16267
The case has been engraved by an English company and the back could still do with a polish, as could the rest of the case as stated. There are a few tiny marks on the dial. This will be serviced before posting, and hopefully the case will clean up ok at the same time.
