Smiths Deluxe solid gold un-engraved 1953 watch in excellent condition recently serviced.
Deluxe Smiths made in England large sized 15 jewel 9ct gold wristwatch c 1953. This is the BWC case maker signed version before they became SCW under Smiths. Fitted with a good condition 15 jewel movement without shock-proofing fully overhauled and in good working order. The 9ct gold case carries Edinburgh hallmarks for 1953 and is 35 mm wide without the crown. The dial is with minor marks, and features raised dice pattern alternate hour markers and gilt numerals and aged gold plated hands. The calf strap which is black is parallel fit and 16mm.

The case has not been polished at all and shows where the bezel has been fitted in different positions in relation to the winding crown in the past. The case is the 2 piece type, with the movement retained in a wide brass ring sitting firmly in the lower case and capped by the crystal and bezel. New old stock rolled gold dustproof winding crown and a new acrylic crystal. New mainspring as we fit to all our Deluxe stock when we service them, these are Swiss and very expensive.
Please bear in mind that this is not a waterproof sports watch. Comes with the usual archive booklet/manual.
