DELUXE SMITHS SILVER CUSHION CASE 1960'S ENGLISH ALCOA WRISTWATCH
Deluxe Smiths silver cushion case 1960's English wristwatch. Most of these are dennison cased, engraved for ici, and were produced from after ww2 up until about 1971, and possibly later , the full run of English smiths production years. This example is actually to a Mr. Jones from alcoa the metal company. As many of these, this has discoloured dial finish, but it doesn't detract too badly and accentuates the two tone finish. The case diameter is about 28mm, the solid strap bars fitted with an open ended zrc strap. The movement is the slim astral grade smiths manual wound gilt finished English lever, upgraded to 16 jewels. Featuring the put in beat hairspring stud familiar to later swiss movements. Fully overhauled and in excellent working order. New crystal and a new old stock silver winding crown. Caliber 60471e. 2 piece bwc Edinburgh hallmarked case marked London made.
