DELUXE SMITHS HORN LUG WRISTWATCH A304 c1952 SERVICED MINGOLD GP CASE.
This was created in about 1952 as part of the earlier production line-up that were officially Deluxe watches as opposed to the 12-15 range.
This horn lug case design was seen on high end watches such as Omega prior to this but was used to a greater extent by Smiths than any other company.
The distinctive high bezel section construction is for a specially cut crystal which clips in to it.
The case diameter is about 30.9mm excl. as opposed to the usual 28mm. The movement has been fully serviced and is in excellent condition, with a pink coloured balance assembly. The thickness is 9.3mm.
Note that the winding crown shows some wear but is an original Smiths dimpled crown. These were plain fit, not even dust-proof and the watch should be treated as such, a pure dress watch not water or dust proof.
Fully serviced with our two year warranty and presentation package, and fitted with a new ZRC croc grain hand made strap in black, 16mm.
