Smiths Everest c 1965 signed wristwatch, a famous version which won a design award at the time, and was in the Design Centre exhibition.
Cashing in on the Desirability of the Everest marque although only basically water resistant when new with clip on back case. Some of these seem to have been in a slightly smaller diameter case of 33mm, this is the wider version at 34.5m. Fitted with a standard caliber 60461e movement. Possibly marketed as a 404e variation.
15 jewel Astral grade made in England movement, with flat Beryllium hairspring and plain balance.
Superb condition original luminous dial and hands.
Fully serviced and supplied with the usual archive booklet.
34.5mm case with a hard chromed top and steel clip on back. Takes a 17mm strap.
If a more padded strap is preferred we have access to a dark brown or black Omega pattern leather one which would fit nicely.
Condition overall is the best possible with slight marks on the back which could be removed if wanted, although as these aren't the thickest case backs smiths used probably best left alone. Comes in a red Smiths box.
